Delays are good...
Well, upto a point, all I see is whining "2008 for beta, argh, Why can't I play GW2 now.
Stop being impatient
This is a new game, not just a chapter. They have stuff to design, and they need time to update the engine, bug test, essentially create a brand new game. Otherwise what are we going to do? We will turn around and said, "GW2 sux" and go back to GW.
There is too long a gap, but that was unavoidable as Arenanet needed to rush out Eye after the leak back last year. (That's what I believe anyway) IMO we wouldn't be seeing new content until a while later to prepare a staged release before GW2.
So, Don't be surprised if it is delayed... Jst not to long plz anet????

GW2W is awesome
I think this is my second post in a month! yay! So we've got wintersday, prezzies and a new wiki. (http://wiki.guildwars2.com), it's anet aproved and we're just gettting set up over there. IMHO, awesome. We should get set up ahead of time, so when GW2 launches, players will be able to just look up stuff. If we manage to get past the NDA thing in Beta, we may have content as it launches (although I don't know how hard that will be). Policy forumlation and content creation is in process. So go there if you with to help out!

Update...
Back, supprised? I am!
-------SPOILERS-------
A lot has been happening the last few weeks - I've started Factions again - after not playing for so long. I'd like to discuss why I don't like it as well as reasons. So just a few off my head:
1. Leveling curve: It's too fast you get to lvl 20 quickly facing lvl 20 mobs when you still have low armour from just starting out. Not good for newer players, who probably don't know where to look for skill point quests as well.
2. The count's daughter: A stuck up teenager, all I have to say!
3. One step behind: You always seem one step behind - and only one step behind Shiro. For example - the mission where you have to save Visu, you are one step behind him as you have not been able to stop him binding other sprits, but you are conveniatly 10 mins before Visu will be bound!
4. The fortune teller's animation: Someone needs to be shot for her animation in the end cinimatic for Temple mission.
5. Again with the Temple mission (don't ask me to spell the name at the front it's a nightmare) you have all this backstory for the 8 sprits you freed at there shrines - but noone will realy read it. In the mission there's a time limit and after the mission it's just dead boring to go back there and view the backstory. (I've just done masters on that misssion so that's why I'm ranty on that)
6. Assending, Weh Nu Soo (which sounds like a brand of noodles to me) or closer to the stars: It's not as good as the doppleganger - sorry.
7. People who look like gwen so we are simpathetic: If you look, I've seen one last night, there are little girls looking like GWEN in pre. Sorry - dosn't work.
There are loads more - so i'll update soon!

The "ultimate Guild Wars Guide"
Great - another thing people will have to buy to get the mini, probably know most of the stuff, but the'll be no "exclusives" and not even a UK launch! :( Anet, people don't like buying stuff to know what's happening, this is turning into there equivelent of subs!

I'm back
I'm back, my internet was down. Sorry if you'd missed me.
Seems I'd missed the dragon festaval, I'm lucky it's being rerun next weekend
Here's the scedule, which is at -7 GMT, so that means add 7 hours to give GMT then add/subtract your local varient.

August 31 2007!
Ok... Much earlyer than expected. GW:EN will be $39.99 (€34.99 or about 20 quid) and "will be released to the public on August 31, 2007."
Arenanet put out a press release today, as you can gather and it seems that October isn't soon enough. It's about 1 1/2 months before we thought the game would be out.
Most of it's marketing hype, and the big stuff I have said, but check out : This site to see for yourself
